University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing

The recently completed University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing leads the way in helping manufacturers of any size to become more competitive.

This £43m facility specialises in world-leading research into advanced machining, manufacturing and materials, which is of practical use to industry for the benefit of manufacturing businesses large and small.

Working with our client NG Bailey and their design consultant ESD, Caice designed and supplied fan coil units, supply and extract fan units along with bespoke attenuation to serve the manufacturing and teaching facilities within this unique BREEAM-rated, zero carbon footprint building.

The circular building required careful acoustic design to ensure that the attenuator and fan products fitted within the spacial constraints of the uniquely shaped plant rooms whilst maintaining access to all air handling units. Our acousticians developed the design working within and meeting the stringent NR30 noise level requirement for the exhibition, seminar & meeting rooms at the centre.
